Volunteers

Volunteers are the backbone of organized youth sports, providing essential support that ensures programs run smoothly and remain accessible. From coaching and refereeing to managing logistics and fundraising, their dedication fosters a positive environment where young athletes can develop skills, build confidence, and create lasting memories. Without volunteers, many community sports programs, like those at Kamloops United Football Club, would struggle to operate, limiting opportunities for youth to grow through sport.

KUFC Coaching

Coaching is a very important and fulfilling role. Beyond their parents, research shows that the next most important influence on a child’s upbringing is their sports coach. As with our participants, coaches are learning and developing along their own pathway. We strive to provide every opportunity for learning that a coach wishes to pursue. In addition, Kamloops United FC is dedicated to providing our coaches with the technical and professional resources to succeed in their role.

Coach Training and Certification
Starting in 2023, all soccer clubs and academies in Canada are asked to meet Canada Soccer’s Standards for Quality Soccer so families can trust that every program provides a safe and positive experience for young players.
As part of these standards, each coach must have the right training and certification for the age group they work with. This helps ensure that every child is supported by knowledgeable coaches who care about their growth and enjoyment of the game.
The chart below shows what certifications coaches need for each youth age group. You can download it by Clicking Here
