BMO Select Program Information

The 10-month BMO Select Program runs from late August through early July, finishing after the BC Soccer Provincial Championships (dates TBC). Outdoor sessions are held at McArthur Island Park and/or Hillside Stadium, with winter training at our newly renovated Indoor Training Centre. Futsal League Play is also included to further enhance technical development.

All sessions are supported by KUFC’s full-time professional technical staff with UEFA A, UEFA B and Canada B licenses, following a structured year-round curriculum focused on skill and game understanding. Registration remains open while space allows and includes a technical evaluation. Match kits and training apparel are provided, while new players must purchase the KUFC tracksuit and backpack. 

NOTE: No sessions on the 2025 Thanksgiving Weekend as KUFC is hosting the Canada Soccer National Championships at McArthur Island.

Select 2025/2026 FAQ

The 10 month program starts in August and runs full year until June. 6 month program starts in January until June. 10 month program has access to the international travel opportunity and have priority in the development sessions and games during the season. 6 month program only has access to travel if numbers allow it. 10 month program will get in depth Individual Development Plans with several feedback points, the 6 months development plans are less detailed due to less time to access the players.

Boys will train Mondays and Wednesday. Girls will train Tuesdays and Thursday. Games will be either Saturday or Sunday depending on the time of year.

Prospect Development sessions are an invite only development tool for technical staff to have players play in additional games or participate in development sessions. Age groups might be blended, and the group composition is solely at the discretion of the technical staff. There are no guarantees for number of games or sessions, this is meant to give the technical staff the ability to see players in controlled environments and help with the individual development plans. Priority will be given to 10 month program.

No. The technical staff might choose to give other players an opportunity, selection is not guaranteed even if the players has attended prospect sessions in the past. The selection of players and the blending of age groups is at the sole discretion of the technical staff.

Spiideo is the match analysis where we record Select group’s games and provide tactical and technical feedback to the groups. Players will have member access to Spiideo App to watch their games and analysis.

Majority of the Select trainings are at McArthur Island. However, when the city closes the fields for maintenance we will be utilizing other fields around Kamloops. This will be communicated with teams.

We have our newly renovated KUFC Soccer Dome at 313 Nishga Way. Select players will have 2 practices a week in the Dome when we transition to indoor training.

Futsal League Play is our exciting match play in the indoor season. Teams play against each other in the age groups. Teams are 5 a side and will be formed by technical staff and be balanced. Team rosters will be dependent on numbers.

Yes. Following evaluations, we will be tiering the U14–U18 teams. Players will receive Select Program offers once the tiering process is complete. In some cases, age groups may begin the season as a talent pool, allowing the technical staff additional time to assess players more thoroughly before finalizing team placements.

Through our partner Capelli Sport plus we are offering our Select Program U16 & U18 the opportunity to go on a training and exhibition match tour with Capelli in Europe in Spring Break. Information on this tour will be available from Capelli In the beginning of the 2025/2026 season. This is NOT mandatory and will be subject to the number of players signing up to execute this offering.

Yes. The club has identified a recommended list of tournaments for our Select Program teams. These events will be made available to all Select players, and team participation will depend on the number of players who commit to each tournament.

If formed teams wish to participate in additional tournaments beyond the club’s recommended list, it will be their responsibility to manage registration and travel logistics. Please note that the club will not support or organize teams that are formed by non club technical staff across different age groups or team rosters for tournaments. The purpose of the Prospect Program is to allow for the forming of blended age groups and must be done by KUFC staff.

PDPs are technical staff’s feedback to players and an assessment of the areas where a player can improve. These plans can be assisted by the video analysis and will be built out during the fall. 10 months get an in depth feedback form with several areas of assessment and points of improvement, 6 month program is less detailed due to less time to work with players.

KUFC Technical Staff review matches and training with specific criteria focusing on player potential, commitment and ability.  The selection of players is at the sole direction of KUFC Technical Staff.
